Synopsis
On a rainy day, Ryou Fujibayashi musters up the courage to confess her feelings to Tomoya Okazaki. Despite not knowing each other for long, the two start dating and develop a harmonious relationship. However, tensions begin to rise when a rumor surrounding Tomoya and Ryou's older sister Kyou spreads around school.
Navigating through a web of emotions, Tomoya and the Fujibayashi twins determine where their love truly lies—even if it means standing in the downpour of the heartbreaking truth.

Great episode. The Clannad series had very flat and boring heroines. However, I am glad to see that this episode gives more character to Kyou and Ryou. Sunohara is still a bro. Tomoya acted a bit out of character in this episode, but it's understandable why. I appreciate that the plot they started got resolved. I usually hate how love triangles lead to long term awkwardness, but this one lasts one episode so I found it enjoyable.
Better than the original Clannad, not as good as the climaxes in After Story.

I'm thrilled that this isn't the cannon ending. I hate love triangles. I hate the stupid high school drama it introduces when you force love triangles into a story. It's a played out obnoxious trope and I don't think anybody has ever genuinely wanted to see more of them in fiction.
Not only that but this story completely ignores Nagisa, and she gets sidelined to probably die alone unfulfilled and never having completed her goal of restarting the theater club. This is clearly a dark timeline bad ending and anyone who thinks otherwise is objectively wrong. There were no Kyou stans. It just isn't something that ...

I actually watched this about 9 years ago so I don't remember how much it differs from the VN, but it should basically be Kyou's route so I'll talk about this.
This is by far the worst route in Clannad. Scratch that, this is by far the worst route in all of Key's works. And Kyou is by far the worst character to ever come out of this great company.
